Introducing the brand new SurfEars 3.0, the worlds only earplug that helps your ears without affecting your hearing. Designed to let sound in while keeping water out, utilizing unique acoustic mesh specifically developed to block out water, cold air, dirt and bacteria and elements that are known to create common issues like ear inflammation or bone growth in the ear canal known as surfers ear and swimmers ear.
What is surfer s ear?
Surfers ear is the extra bone growth, also called exostosis, formed as lumps that grow in the ear canal. It is the body’s defence mechanism to protect the eardrum from exposure to cold water and wind. As surfers we are frequently exposed to windy and wet conditions. Hence the name; surfers ear. The pace of the bone growth varies from person to person and increases with lower temperature and more frequent exposure. Research has indicated an 84% incidence of surfers ear in those who have surfed for 10 years or more, with 50% suffering from 2/3 or more closure of the ear canal. Surgery is the last option. By wearing ear plugs you can easily protect your ears from the elements without affecting your hearing or balance.
Created by surfers and engineers from Sweden, SurfEars 3.0 has undergone some excellent improvements from previous models to enhance overall fit, design and functionality.

Better fit & comfort
Ears are sensitive and the comfort of in-ear devices is closely related to how well these fit in your ear. With all ears unique in size and shape, there s no one-fits-all solution to making great earplugs. We’ve studied the anatomy of the ear closely and identified four main points of contact, which all are critical to achieving good comfort. With SurfEars 3.0 we’ve adapted the product design to follow the ears anatomy closely, drastically improving both fit and comfort.
In order to make 3.0 fit so much better, we had to make the plugs individual to the left and right ear. Both the wings and cores are unique for your right or left ear. The tube of the core has been modified to point both forward and slightly upwards, creating a more natural fit in your ear. To make it easy for the user to know which plug goes in which ear, we’ve colour-coded left and right.
The sealing gels have been redesigned to achieve a better seal while also increasing wearing comfort. They are thinner, softer and conforms to the shape of the ear more easily.
Larger size range
The newly designed core is slightly smaller which enables us to increase the products size range without compromising hearing performance. We have added an extra size for the sealing gels for a total of four different sizes, and the wings come in two sizes to ensure a good fit to even the smallest and largest ears.
Increased life span
We’ve introduced a protective rib preventing the mesh from being pushed inwards, while also increasing the mesh’s adhesive area. This will reduce the risk of the plugs to wear out when repeatedly pushing the mesh with fingers when inserting the plugs. The new leash is also redesigned, with loops on each end which makes it more durable compared to a previous solution and easier to attach and remove from the plugs. The new leash is thicker which makes it more durable and also less likely to tangle.
Smarter storage
The best earplugs deserve the best storage. The SurfEars 3.0 silicone case looks amazing and works like a charm and will last for a lifetime. It’s made from an injection moulded, medical-grade silicone, has a smooth satin finish and carefully crafted details, like the debossed logos and vent hole pattern on the back. The magnetic closure keeps your plugs safe and makes the case easy to open and close. With the aluminium carabiner, you can easily hook them onto your bag or keychain and keep them with you when you need them.
Sustainable packaging
It s important to showcase the product in a nice way but not at the cost of the environment. The best way to reduce waste in packaging is to minimize the packaging itself. Therefore we are using the storage case as part of the packaging. SurfEars 3.0 is presented in a stylish yet minimal paper wrapping made from partly recycled material and is fully recyclable. We use vegetable-based ink for minimum environmental impact. User instructions are printed on the back for quick access and minimal material usage.

DELIVERY
We dispatch all orders, unless otherwise stated within one working day of receiving payment confirmation. If you pay via credit card we receive payment confirmation automatically as soon as you've paid. If you pay via bank transfer or cash deposit you can send us proof of payment to speed up your delivery.
Courier deliveries are made Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. There are no deliveries on weekends or public holidays. If you live in a main city centre, your order will take up to 3 days. If you live in a remote area it could take up to 5 days. Please do not hesitate to contact our customer services team if you wish to get a more exact estimate.
Deliveries are not insured so please request a quote if insurance is required.
We reserve the right to add a delivery charge should the product you ordered be of a high volumetric size or weight. This will be confirmed before despatch
LOCAL DELIVERY (Western Cape)
Shipping to Cape Town will be free of charge for all orders above R1000. Any orders below the minimum required value for Cape Town will incur a delivery charge of R100 upon checkout
NATIONAL DELIVERY (South Africa)
Shipping within South Africa to major centres will be free of charge for orders over R2000. Any orders below the minimum required value for other major centres will incur a delivery charge of R200 upon checkout.
Major centres include Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Kimberley, Pietermaritzburg, Port Elizabeth, East London and George.
Regional (+/- 100km from major centres) and Remote (greater than 200km for major centres) areas, out of the ordinary and volumetric based mass products may incur additional charges depending on the area – we will notify you of the applicable charges, should they apply to you.

Hey Ocean Trader, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the product to us subject to the below terms. As we represent a diverse basket of Brands and products, the warranties and claim procedures may differ, but all will have the same goal… a happy Customer.
Ocean Trade Supplies will offer you a full refund or exchange.
In order to receive a refund or exchange, the item(s) must be unused, unridden or unworn and in the original packaging, all labels attached and in a resalable condition.

We will only issue refunds or exchanges on items that are returned to us within 7 days of receipt within the Republic of South Africa and 14 days of International receipt. Any items returned from a delivery address outside of the Republic of South Africa will incur the relevant taxes, import duties or shipping charges that apply.
